The Bristol City Sensor trial has started with the collaboration of Toshiba Research Europe Ltd.
We are currently in the process of deploying a city-wide sensor network using 6TiSCH technology for Bristol City Council. The first results are promising and we can cover a large area around Queen square in central Bristol with only 3 sensor boxes. The boxes currently monitor and report environmental data such as air pressure, humidity, temperature and ambient light. We aim to get a 20 node network of sensors to be up and running by end of 2017. The long term goal is to cover Bristol metropolitan area with these sensors with open data to enable developers to create applications around this sensor network.
